Calling all licensed workers and lay delegates! We are in need of volunteers for the various committees of District Conference 2025. If you are interested in volunteering to sit on one of these committees, please sign-up here or click the button above. Wondering what the different committees are and what they do? Mini descriptions of each committee are at the bottom of the page.
The Nominations Committee needs your help!
Could you help us expand our pool of potential lay nominees for district leadership and General Assembly committees? We would appreciate it if you could recommend a few lay members from your church who you believe have experience and skills to offer our family of churches. We are looking for names for:

Join the Committee on Credentials
(3 members needed)
Mandate is to examine and certify the credentials of all delegates (attendees) at conference.
Pre-Conference Time Commitment:
o No pre-conference work is required!
Duties include:
o Taking registrations at the door
o Tracking the different types of delegates to ensure an accurate count of voting and non-voting delegates
o Verifying endorsement letters for each Lay Voting Delegate
o Posting a list of all delegates at conference indicating who is present/absent and specifying delegate type
o Delivering a verbal report of amount of each type of delegate present at determined points during the conference (as per the agenda)
Join the Committee on Rules
(3 members needed)
Mandate is to ensure that the proceedings of Conference business follow and do not violate Parliamentary, District and National rules.
Pre-conference Time Commitment:
o Familiarize yourself with Robert’s Rules and the District governing documents (all of which will be provided to you).
Duties include:
o Familiarizing yourself with Robert’s Rules of Order, the Policy on District Organization, and the District Bylaw
o Notifying the Moderator of Conference of violations for correction
Join the Committee on Finance
(3-4 members needed)
Mandate is to review the financial statements, budgets, and matters of the district and make recommendations to Conference that have the potential to become motions.
This committee has an additional mandate to meet throughout the year with the District Treasurer and the Director of Finance to review and provide recommendations on various banking, investment, and financial matters.
Pre-conference Time Commitment:
o Meet 2-3 times to review documents
o Write draft report on Finance
Ongoing Time Commitment:
o Meet on an as needed basis (3-4 times per year) at the request of the District Treasurer
Duties include:
o Reviewing the audited financial reports and financial statements for both CAMA Woodlands and the District.
o Developing points for clarification (questions) that arose while reviewing those reports and presenting them to those entities for response.
o Holding Committee Connect meetings prior to and at conference to gain feedback, hear the concerns of delegates, and draft recommendations to Conference that have the potential to become motions.
o Writing of a ‘draft report’ to District Conference (to be distributed prior to conference) a ‘final report’ to Conference (to be presented at Conference).
o Verbal presentation of the committee’s final report at District Conference.
Join the Committee on Church Ministries
(5-6 members representing the diversity of our district in gender, ethnicity, age, and position)
Mandate is to review matters relating to the establishment, growth and health of churches and new ventures in our District, international missions, and ministries to specific groups including ethnicities and NextGen. Additionally, to review matters related to education and development, including the official schools of The Alliance Canada. To make recommendations to Conference that have the potential to become motions.
Pre-Conference Time Commitment:
o Meet 2-3 times to review various Reports to Conference
o Hold a Committee Connect zoom meeting with delegates prior to conference to gather input from delegates
o Write draft report on Church Ministries
Duties include:
o Reviewing the reports of Ambrose and ETEQ, DEXCOM, The President, and the District Superintendent
o Developing points for clarification (questions) that arose while reviewing those reports and presenting them to those entities for response
o Holding Committee Connect meetings prior to and at conference to gain feedback, hear the concerns of delegates, and draft recommendations to Conference that have the potential to become motions.
o Writing of a ‘draft report’ to District Conference (to be distributed prior to conference) a ‘final report’ to Conference (to be presented at Conference)
o Verbal presentation of the committee’s final report at District Conference
