New Ventures is a ministry of The Alliance Canada that works with individuals and churches to reach new people, in new places, multiplying disciples in Canada. This commitment is reflected in our denominational vision prayer and is in response to Jesus’ commission to go and make disciples of all peoples (Matthew 28) and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we are to be His witnesses in all spheres of influence (Acts 1:8). At General Assembly in 2024, a 10-year strategic framework was presented and affirmed by the delegates to multiply disciples everywhere and to make the necessary sacrifices to share the love of Jesus with our broken world and to double our reach by 2034.

What would it look like to double our reach through New Ventures; to share the love of Jesus with new people in new places here in the Central District?

As you consider partnering with Jesus in new ways and increasing your new ventures engagement here are a few next steps to explore:

Pray  strategically for our existing new ventures, discerning communities, and apprentices and also ask the Holy Spirit: "Whom or where have you placed on my heart?” Like the first disciples who were sent as witnesses to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth, how may Jesus be preparing you to double your missional engagement in all spheres of influence?

JERUSALEM

Physically Very Near, Relationally Known

JUDEA

Culturally Close, Relationally or Physically Distant

SAMARIA

Physically Close, Relationally Distant

ENDS OF THE EARTH

Physically Distant, Relationally New

Steward strategically & sacrificially give to the district ministry fund to help fund general New Ventures Subsidies, or increase your intentional engagement by becoming a supporting partner of a specific new venture. If your church has yet to do so, we invite you to consider setting up a New Ventures Fund to increase vision and to prepare for a future partnership or to support one of our existing new ventures.

Create spaces of discovery & discernment for Leaders and be intentional about calling people into vocation ministry & mission. If someone in your sphere of influence is discerning their vocational please consider inviting them to the Pursue Clarity Retreat hosted by the Central District in Burlington on August 17-19, 2025. To learn more contact Regan Neudorf, our Director of New Ventures

As we look ahead to the future, it is undeniable that we face complex times. The need for leaders who are confident in their call and equipped to lead the church is critical.

In addition to the retreat, New Ventures is also offering a hybrid course in the fall called Discerning Your Call: Pastoral Ministry in the 21st Century. This course—in partnership with The St. Lawrence District of The Alliance Canada, and ETEQ (Theology seminary affiliated with The Alliance Canada and Université de Laval) —is a pilot class which may lead to a future collective of courses designed to give our leaders a strong foundation as they prepare to engage with the challenges and opportunities of the current and future culture around us.

Join Professor Ruso and emerging leaders from across Canada as we reflect on complex questions and explore new ways to follow Jesus' lead and live a life of ministry in a Post Christian culture.
