Assistant Pastor

Brampton Vietnamese Alliance Church

Brampton Vietnamese Alliance Church is looking for a full-time Assistant pastor. The Assistant Pastor will support the Lead Pastor in all areas of ministry, focusing on discipleship, evangelism, and small groups. This role will also be responsible for leading and developing volunteers for the Church. 


Main Objectives:

  • The minister needs to be spiritually mature, have spiritual gifts and experiences in the ministry, to lead and train the church members as to bring them to maturity in Christ.

  • Co-working with the lead pastor and church board and leaders, the minister is to contribute to the church growth as to advance the kingdom of God in the Brampton and GTA Vietnamese community.

  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for discipleship and evangelism, as well as experience leading and growing groups. 

  • They will be a talented communicator, both in written and spoken form. 

  • The assistant pastor will be a key member of the pastoral team, working together to provide vision and direction for the church.


Responsible for: 

  1. preaching

  2. leading Bible studies in small groups 

  3. spiritual counselling

  4. visitation

  5. arranging Sunday service logistics

  6. organizing church activities

  7. outreach 

  8. connecting with our District Superintendent

  9. overseeing the growth of church ministries


Minimum Requirements:

  • Has acknowledged and surrendered his/her life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in theology.

  • Experience in a pastoral position is preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership in a church context.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work successfully both independently and in groups.

  • Experience leading a team of staff or volunteers.

  • Bilingual (English/Vietnamese)


Job Type: 

  • Full-time


Compensation and Benefits: 

  • Annual Salary and benefits starting at the District guideline and will be reviewed and adjusted yearly

  • Vacation starting at 3 weeks per year

  • Extended health and dental benefits and insurance plan coverage

  • Car allowance and mobile phone allowance


Ministry Context:

  • The person suitable for this ministry must be in agreement with C&MA Statement of Faith, as well as the church vision and directional statement which describe the mission, vision and core values of the church.

  • The applicant must also possess the pastoral qualities described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
